District Response to 2023 Winter Weather Event / Brush Pickup ALMOST THERE
Posted on February 5, 2023

STATUS:

The Ranch at Cypress Creek MUD’s Board of Directors held a special meeting on February 8, 2023, in which funding was voted for brush cleanup in response to the recent winter weather.

WHEN:

We are in the final process of selecting a vendor and are waiting for them to confirm the date that they will start the pickup.  We hope to get started next week, but we will update this post and send out additional email notifications as soon as we have a date confirmed.  Use the Contact form to sign up for email notifications.

PROCESS:

Brush will be picked up from residence curbs (they will not go behind your house or into your back yard) and mulched first, then removed from the common areas, then a second sweep through the residences will be done so those who miss the first pass or need to clear out space in order to get more brush to the front of your property will have several days between the passes to do so.

To prepare for the pickup, please do NOT place your brush in the street where it can obstruct the site of drivers and walkers through the District or pose a safety hazard.  Please keep it on the curb or in your yard until the day before the pickup.  Limbs will need to be at the curb for pickup.

ALTERNATIVES:

If you do not want to wait for the MUD-sponsored pickup, you can make your own arrangements for brush removal at your cost.  Homeowners in the area can take brush to the Williamson County Landfill, 600 Landfill Road in Hutto, Texas. Waste Management is charging only $10 plus tax per pickup truckload of limbs and clean brush now through Feb. 19. In addition, Williamson County is waiving its 6.5% fee for these pickup truckloads. This payment scale is for non-commercial vehicles and excludes trailers. The normal charge for clean brush/wood is $8.64 per cubic yard. Trash/debris is $46.90 per ton. For directions and hours of operation, visit Contact Us | Waste Management | Waste Management (wm.com)

MUD residents can also put out up to five additional bags or bundles of refuse for Clawson (our disposal service) to pick up during their regular service run.  See our Trash and Recycling info for details:  https://www.ranchatcc.org/trash-recycling/

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • BrightView (the District’s landscaping company) is already working on clearing common areas as part of their normal duties, and the City of Cedar Park is working on the park at Del Roy and Rachel Ridge.  We don’t have an ETA for completion at this time.
  • The MUD will not cite residents for violations of winter weather debris before the pickup.
  • Replacement of trees and shrubs that were lost will be addressed after the brush pickup is completed.
